White Hat Tactics: Why Your SEO Plan Needs It

SEO Plan With A Conscience

If you are creating your SEO Plan, you will often encounter the need to dig deeper into the best ways to optimize your site. Sometimes, it could feel like you're only left with SEO tactics that force you to manipulate search engines.

These so-called Black Hat SEO techniques use unethical means to boost a website's ranking in search results. They might give you quick results, but they never are the right choice if you’re looking for long-term SEO strategies.

Why White Hat Tactics?

White Hat SEO uses techniques that work with search engines to improve rankings naturally. It is an optimization technique with a human audience in mind. It also follows strategies and techniques pursuant to the rules and guidelines of the search engine.

On the other hand, Black Hat SEO uses SEO strategies specifically designed to increase a site's ranking by bending or breaking the rules set by Google and other search engines. It is usually done with complete disregard for the human user.

It refers not only to practices that search engines consider misleading but also to efforts that include bait linking. There are many sites out there that have lost top spots because they did not follow Google's best practice guidelines. Unlike Black Hat SEO, White Hat SEO consists of actions that can improve your search ranking, while preserving your business's image and reputation.

They include search engine optimization methods that naturally integrate growing traffic and audience. Their methods include keyword optimization and keyword filtering, link building, image optimization and other SEO techniques. They also include improving on the technical SEO side, too.

To summarize, the most significant difference between the two approaches is that white hat SEO follows guidelines provided by Google and other search engines. Their application improves the user’s experience. They include practices that improve the search results while maintaining their integrity.

If you want to focus on ranking your site in Google, integrate white hat tactics into your SEO strategy.

Do Grey Hat Tactics Exist?

Surprisingly, yes.

Grey hats don't fall into the Black Hat SEO realm. This doesn’t mean though that it’s an SEO strategy that is in the White Hat SEO zone either.

As the name suggests, Grey Hat SEO is used to categorize techniques that are not explicitly denounced by search engine rules and policies. However, they are ethically questionable and may or may not lead to penalties.

The Good Guy Always Wins

When it comes to deciding whether you want to be a “white hat” or a “practiced SEO site,” make sure you take the right steps to ensure that your site is on track.

Now that you know the importance of using this kind of tactics, make sure you do not go beyond pure white hat SEO practice. Not only would you stop feeling like a spammer, you’re also building solid grounds for your SEO foundation.
