Mount Talbert Nature Park is located in Clackamas County, Oregon. The site is popular for its beautiful view of cinder cone of Mount Talbert volcano and an underdeveloped forested butte of interlinked hiking trails, frequented by hikers and nature-lovers.
1. How to Get There
Take Mather Road to access the park via its main entrance. Alternatively, another entrance is at Sunnyside Road at 117th Avenue.
For a more convenient arrival, it is recommended to use Mather Road for an easy access to restrooms, parking and picnic spaces. There is also a gravel trail leading up to wheelchair-accessible areas.
The park opens 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset.
The best time to visit is during the months of April to June.
2. Activities
The park boasts of many enjoyable activities for everyone. It is a perfect go-to destination for those who love an environment of greenery and lush spaces. Aside from hiking, visitors can also enjoy the sight of native and migrating wildlife. Guests can also use the picnic tables at Mather Road Trailhead.
3. Hiking Trails
There is a 4-mile trekking and hiking area in Mount Talbert Nature Park. Steepness of different trails range from easy to difficult. Some tracks are single-lined.

4. About Mount Talbert
This 740-feet tall volcano is part of the Boring Lava Field, a belt of volcanic activity that traces its history back to the ancient times. The field extends up to some areas of Portland. The volcano's last eruption was estimatedly five hundred years ago.

While the park is open for everyone there are rules and regulations to observe and things to avoid while inside the premises. Take note of these strictly prohibited items and activities in the park:
